Designs and industrial models are protected in Egypt under the Egyptian IPR Law No. 82 /2002, The Second Book and its’ Executive Regulation.
Period of protection is 10 years as from the filing date and renewable once for further 05 years. Our Team is able to help you with all your requirements such as searches and filing till up registration.
Requirements
Filing:
- A Power of Attorney legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate (may be filed within 06 Months from the filing date).
- Four representations (photographs or drawings) of the design or model.
- A commercial extract, certificate of incorporation, certificate of good standing or business license of the applicant legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate (may be filed within 06 months from the filing date).
- A certified copy of the priority document for a convention application (if any and may be filed within 06 months from the filing date).
Assignment & merger:
- A Power of Attorney signed by the assignee and legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- A commercial extract, certificate of incorporation, certificate of good standing or business license of the assignee legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- A legalized deed of assignment signed by both parties and duly legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
License agreement
- A legalized license agreement by the Egyptian Consulate.
- A Power of Attorney by the licensee and the licensor legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An extract of the entry of the licensee company in the commercial register or a certified copy of the certificate of incorporation legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- A commercial extract, certificate of incorporation, certificate of good standing or business license of the licensee and licensor legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
Change of Applicant’s Name/Address
- A Power of Attorney legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- A certified certificate of the change of name or address legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
